Bespoke Expands Grassroots Marketing Division


Bespoke Sports & Entertainment has hired highly experienced retail marketers Cody Reid and Mike Reynolds as Account Managers to oversee the agency’s new national grassroots marketing business for Academy Sports + Outdoors. Bespoke has managed Academy’s sports partnerships for the last nine years and is expanding its work into local marketing for the second largest sporting goods retailer in the country.


“Mike and Cody bring an incredible institutional knowledge of Academy’s overall business and are uniquely positioned to oversee our agency’s expansion into Academy’s community marketing efforts,” said Bespoke President Greg Busch. “We have developed great relationships with both of them over our long-standing partnership with Academy and we know they are a great fit for our organization.”


Reid joins Bespoke after eighteen years with Academy, most recently as Senior Retail Marketing Specialist responsible for all aspects of regional marketing. That included development and management of strategic partnerships with local and regional organizations, as well as leading the team’s enterprise efforts with community sports organizations. Reid began his career as a store manager at Academy.


Reynolds has 20 years of experience spanning multimedia marketing, advertising and event production, including the last seven years as Senior Regional Marketing Specialist for Academy, where he developed localized, grassroots marketing strategies. Reynolds also has extensive event management experience with both Academy and Bonnier, the premier operator of big-game fishing tournaments.


At Bespoke, the pair will manage Academy’s local marketing efforts that include hundreds of partnerships spanning 290 stores across 18 states. Those efforts will focus on building Academy’s brand awareness and in-store sales through evaluation and management of potential and existing partnerships with professional, college and youth sports organizations.
